Safety Tips For Families

  • Even if online habits have changed, you can still set boundaries that work for you and your children. Involving children in setting these rules may help them stick to the guidelines.

  • Even the best content blockers and strictest monitoring programs can’t ensure that your children are totally protected online. When it comes to keeping kids safe online, the best tool is attention and active conversation about digital behaviors

  • Using the platforms your child is on not only helps show you understand their interest but also allows you to help ensure the platforms they are provide safe and healthy environments rather than relying on third party information.

  • With everyone’s social lives being conducted more and more online each day, having face-to-face conversations with your child can help maintain healthy relationships and gives them the opportunity to discuss anything unhealthy or uncomfortable happening to them online in a comfortable environment.

  • Opting to limit access, such as shorter windows for internet use or restricting use to certain public areas of the house, rather than removing it entirely can help resolve issues without creating resentment and socially isolating them from their peers.
