Designed using curriculum from the Monique Burr Foundation and for youth in grades K-8 in after-school programs and youth-serving organizations.

This program meets Erin’s Law requirements in the State of Indiana and is designed to educate and empower children and adults with information and strategies to prevent abuse and bullying.

These trainings take place in two sessions lasting from 35-55 minutes each. Iris Family Support Center’s certified facilitators offer these throughout northern Indiana. We recommend organizations schedule the first training in the fall and the second in the spring to keep the information fresh and relevant for children and adults.

This training follows the Eddie the Eagle curriculum and is designed for children in grades K-4.

Developed by Netsmartz, the online safety education program of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), this training provides parents, guardians, and communities with information on how to keep children safe in the ever-changing digital world. Iris Family Support Center is a Community Education Partner of the NCMEC with our trainers all holding NCMEC training certifications.

This presentation hopes to provide participants with helpful information, prevention tools to protect their children and share best practices to respond to their child if something happens. The risks discussed in this presentation include: inappropriate content, online privacy, online enticement, sexting, sextortion, and cyberbullying. Attendees will learn how to open and support continuing conversations about healthy relationships, accurate information, and red flags; how to aid children in developing critical skills such as empathy, critical thinking, problem-solving, rejection skills, and reaching out for help; how to report abuse, be a trusted adult and an upstanding citizen.

The Under the Rainbow: LGBTQ+ presentation is a training for adults who are interested in how to best support youth within the LBGTQ+ community.

This presentation explores the growing impact of burnout and stress among youth workers and the importance of maintaining personal well-being while supporting others. Participants will gain an understanding of current burnout trends, common stressors in youth-serving professions, and the effects these challenges can have on mental, emotional, and physical health. The session will also introduce the concepts of self-care and self-regulation, including practical ways to build healthy routines, manage stress, and maintain resilience in demanding environments. In addition, participants will learn effective skills and strategies to use during moments of overwhelm, helping them regain control, respond calmly, and continue supporting youth in a healthy and sustainable way.

The Stewards of Children developed by Darkness to Light uses real people and real stories to show participants how to protect children.

Participants will hear from survivors who lived through child sexual abuse, experienced its immediate and long-term effects, and ultimately were able to find healing. They will also hear from experts who work with children and families, and confront abuse on a daily basis.

This presentation is geared toward those working with youth in any capacity. The objectives for this presentation are to understand trauma and its impact, recognize effects of trauma on youth and staff, and apply trauma knowledge to your daily work.

This interactive Water Safety training is designed anyone who supports infants and young children. This training emphasizes awareness, preparation, and prevention over fear-based messaging, helping adults recognize how quickly water-related incidents can occur and how small, intentional actions can significantly reduce risk. Participants will gain clear, actionable strategies, communication tools, and resources that can be applied immediately in both professional and caregiving roles.

What Would I Do is an evidence-based trafficking prevention curriculum designed for age-appropriate presentations for 5th to 12th graders.

Focused on educating students about abuse, exploitation and trafficking, this curriculum offers students a space to think critically and speak openly about healthy relationships, cultural messages, harmful stereotypes, barriers to seeking help, strategies for staying safe and action steps for responding to unsafe situations.
